Interdisciplinary innovations for a sustainable food concept at BE‑U
The food LAB at BE-U brings together innovative experts from various fields to work on the development and realization of the sustainable food concept for BE-U. These experts come from areas such as business, gastronomy, retail, food production, technology, production, logistics and politics. Their diversity and expertise make it possible to jointly develop tailor-made and practice-oriented solutions that not only meet the requirements of modern urban districts, but also redefine them.
This collaboration creates synergies that promote the exchange of ideas and drives innovative approaches to sustainable food supply forward at BE-U.

The blueprint for an urban food concept at BE-U
The food LAB is responsible for the development and implementation of innovative and sustainable food supply concepts at BE-U. Since its foundation in September 2023, we have been working closely with experts to explore the potential for new and innovative approaches in the areas of gastronomy, retail and food production in order to develop and implement a sustainable food concept for the BE-U.
We combine the expertise of all those involved to develop outstanding standards for a sustainable food supply and implement them at BE-U. Our focus is on a sustainable economy and committed cooperation. We are driven by our common goal, demanding quality standards and a customer-oriented approach.
The kick-off event on 09.04.2024 marked
the start of an exciting new chapter.
On this day, leading figures from the fields of business, gastronomy, retail and politics gathered to celebrate the start of our project and take a significant step towards sustainable local supply.
The exchange at the kick-off of the food LAB BE-U not only highlighted the urgent need for the joint development of food concepts for urban living spaces such as BE-U, but also the extraordinary potential of such collaborations and the inspiring ideas that can emerge from them.
