The urban development LAB is dedicated to the specific implementation-oriented questions of designing a sustainable, innovative and vibrant model district for the urban development of the future:
- What design requirements result from the requirements of innovative strength, urbanity and social commitment for a commercial district?
- Which digital solutions make an urban district intelligent and sustainable? What potential is hidden behind the term "smart city" for a technology district?
- What measures are needed to further strengthen a thriving business location like Oberschöneweide through sustainability-oriented neighborhood development?
- What requirements for a resilient and sustainable infrastructure result from the neighborhood development for the entire location? What new paths of mobility can be taken (keyword: use of the Spreefor the transportation of people and goods)?
- Which solutions point the way to combining energy efficiency and monument protection? How can historically significant buildings worthy of preservation be modernized in a future-proof way while preserving their architectural heritage?
- What universal experience and transferable best-practice approaches does the BE‑U offer as a model district of the future?
