The new BE-U is well integrated
The new BE-U | Behrens-Ufer is nestled between the University of Applied Sciences and the neighbouring Schöneweide Technology and Start-up Centre. It complements the triangle of research, entrepreneurial spirit and innovative production and strengthens the emergence of entrepreneurial networks. Anyone who climbs the tower of the Peter Behrens Building in Berlin Oberschöneweide and lets their eyes wander over the sea of Berlin houses will soon realise that this quarter is more than just an industrial monument. Surrounded by the green Wuhlheide and the blue Spree, the former industrial belt is already an attractive location for science, business, art and culture. It is currently experiencing the greatest surge of development in its recent history and is integrated into the Berlin South-East boom corridor.

With over 14,000 students in more than 70 degree programmes in the fields of technology, information technology, business, law, culture and design, the HTW is Berlin’s largest university of applied sciences. At its two campuses, it offers a broad spectrum of subjects ranging from classic disciplines such as mechanical engineering, automotive engineering and business administration to newer courses such as health electronics, game design and professional IT business. The Wilhelminenhof campus was occupied in 2006 and is located in the immediate vicinity of the new BE-U | Behrens-Ufer.

Wuhlheide Park Stage and Volkspark
The second largest open-air stage in Berlin was built in 1951 in the Volkspark Wuhlheide near the BE-U | Behrens-Ufer. Designed as an amphitheatre, the site offers space for 17,000 people and is a regular venue for spectacular concerts. The park stage is surrounded by the Volkspark Wuhlheide with its 370 hectares of green and wooded areas, the historic open-air swimming pool and the FEZ leisure and recreation centre, which is known throughout the city.
